THIN/Availity Platform Update

After the recent THIN/Availity merger, Availity announced the THIN platform will be discontinued to existing submitters as of December 31, 2007, without exception.

The following payers and states are impacted by the THIN/Availity merger:

• Medicare B for IL, MI NM and TX
• BC/BS for IL, MI NM and TX
• Medicaid for TX
• IDPA for IL
• Tricare for all regions 1-12
• Commercial claims for all states as listed on the THIN Payer ID List

The Availity Direct Module (AVAP) is now being provided to all new submitters. Please note that current users of the GPNT Direct Module submitting claims to the THIN platform may continue to submit claims through December 31, 2007. However, the THIN platform will be discontinued for all users as of December 31, 2007.

The Availity Direct Module (AVAP) is compatible with both Medisoft Version 11 and Version 12.

The AVAP Direct Module will be provided for free to current Medisoft Version 12 GPNT users who have previously purchased this module. For those customers using Medisoft Version 11, the upgrade fee for the AVAP Module is $549. An AVAP upgrade fee of $549 applies to all customers on versions prior to Medisoft Version 11 who are using the GPNT Direct Module. In addition, these customers will need to purchase an upgrade for their core Medisoft software.

Due to the volume of migrations, we urge you to select a replacement solution as soon as possible. You will need to enroll with Availity and complete new carrier agreements. For those already signed up with THIN, the enrollment process can be done online and you should be approved to submit claims within the matter of a few hours. Do not wait until the last minute to initiate this migration.

Because the THIN platform is no longer available for new submitters, we can no longer accept new orders for GPNT/THIN modules.

Availity Communication

You may have received a letter from Availity regarding the migration process from the former THIN Platform to the new Availity Health Information Network. This letter stated that access to the THIN platform would be revoked effective 30 days from the date of the letter. Under Medisoft's agreement with Availity, this deadline does not apply to Medisoft customers.
