Medisoft Version 17
Medisoft Version 17 is ANSI 5010 compliant. ANSI 5010 is the new messaging format to send claims electronically.Improvements-
The following improvements have been made since Version 16:- Four new reports added: Appointment Eligibility Analysis [Detail & Summary], Electronic Claims Analysis [Detail & Summary]. This brings the total up to 413 reports that come standard with Medisoft Advanced or Network Pro.
- Improved audit reports
- Bill Flash (Statement Service) Integration- For those using the Bill Flash statement management service, that service can now be accessed from within Medisoft.
- Revenue Management Improvements- For those using the Revenue Management service, improvements have been made to how it works from within Medisoft.
- The Office Hours scheduler, which used to be sold separately, now comes standard with Medisoft v17.
ANSI 5010-
For offices that send electronic claims directly to the payers:
All payers have to accept the ANSI 5010 format by Dec. 31, 2011. Payers can start accepting the ANSI 5010 format on Dec. 31, 2010. Some payers may accept the old ANSI 4010 format after the Dec. 31, 2011 deadline. Medicare will not accept the old format and will only accept the new ANSI 5010 format for electronic claims after July 1, 2012.For offices that send electronic claims through a clearinghouse:
Most clearinghouses will convert your claims to the new ANSI 5010 format for you with no additional cost. Contact your clearinghouse for details.For claims that you need to send directly to the payer, Medisoft Version 17 has you covered for ANSI 5010.
